Team skills building through power point karaoke
PowerPoint Karaoke is a fantastic Team skills building learning opportunity, a spin-off from the traditional Karaoke. Instead of singing songs, the participants must present impromptu from a random set of slides. The slides are pictures and images that enable the presenter to talk and engage with the audience instead of reading from the screen. The laptop needs to be set up in the correct position to enable the presenter to see the current and upcoming slides (using presenters view). The presenter must speak for 2-3 minutes on a product or service in the company using the pictures as a focal point for their message.
PowerPoint Karaoke is also a form of Improv comedy (think, “Who’s line is it anyway?” on TV) and can be used effectively for team building and PowerPoint skill education and training. The experience enables presenters to experience the benefits of using images rather than too much text. Different presenters will interpret the same images in different ways. Allowing for each presenter to present in his or her own unique style.
